Websites

We design and build custom WordPress websites and WooCommerce stores for businesses. A lean technical build keeps them fast, accessible, and easy to maintain. You can extend the site as your business changes without heavy page builders or unnecessary plugins.

WordPress websites

An on-brand marketing site with a custom design and a performance-focused build.

Easy to manage, fast across devices, and ready for technical SEO.

WooCommerce stores

An easy-to-use WooCommerce store for consumer or B2B sales.

Add multiple languages, customer-specific pricing, and integrations as needed.

Websites tailored to your business

A good website explains what you offer, guides visitors towards an enquiry or purchase, and gives you room to add content and features. We design the structure, content, and interface around your goals and your users. We also take care of performance and technical SEO. When needed, we connect the site to your other business systems.

Typical projects include:

  • marketing and brand websites
  • event platforms
  • community portals
  • corporate and product websites
  • B2B and B2C stores
  • multilingual and international websites

Visual design and branding

We design the site structure, content, and visual language together so visitors can find what they need and recognise your brand. If you already have an established identity, we adapt it for the web. Colours, typography, imagery, and interface details form a consistent system across devices.

If your visual identity needs an update, we can design or refine the logo, colours, typography, and image style. You can use the resulting identity on the website and in other communications.

Custom WordPress implementation

We build a custom WordPress theme and only use plugins when they solve a clear need. This keeps the site lean and manageable:

  • Fast load times: a lean build improves the user experience and supports search visibility.
  • Smaller attack surface: removing unnecessary plugins reduces potential vulnerabilities.
  • Predictable maintenance: a considered setup is easier to update and test.
  • Focused content management: editors see the fields and tools they need.
  • Room to grow: we can add content and features without rebuilding the site.

Accessibility and compliance

We account for accessibility in the structure, interface, keyboard controls, colour contrast, and content components from the start. We agree on a target WCAG level and check the accessibility of key user journeys. Good accessibility makes the site easier for everyone to use.

In Finland, accessibility requirements under the Act on the Provision of Digital Services apply to services including consumer-facing online stores that fall within its scope. If the Act covers your service, we define the relevant requirements at the start of the project and include the necessary technical work in the build.

We also account for privacy in the implementation. Together, we define the required consent management, analytics setup, and technical measures for handling personal data.

Analytics and tracking

We set up analytics as part of the project and agree on what to measure, such as enquiries, purchases, form use, or content engagement. When needed, we help interpret the results and identify where visitors abandon a task or need a clearer route forward.

E-commerce with WooCommerce

We build your WooCommerce store around your products, customers, and sales process. The store can support multiple languages, reseller logins and pricing, and connections to systems such as inventory management, accounting, and shipping services.

We keep the shop structure and purchase journey clear, including for large product catalogues. You can expand the content and product structure without rebuilding the entire store.

Integrations and external data

Your website can retrieve data from other systems and pass it on. We build integrations for needs such as:

  • External data sources: retrieve events, products, news, or other content from another system or API.
  • WooCommerce and ERP synchronisation: transfer products, inventory levels, orders, and customer data between the store and an ERP or warehouse management system.
  • CRM and marketing systems: connect forms, customer data, and purchases to your CRM, email marketing platform, or analytics tools.

An integration reduces manual updates and keeps data consistent across systems.

How the project works

  • 1. Goals and design

We review your goals, audiences, and content needs. We design the sitemap, content structure, and visual identity. We move to a staging site early so you can assess the interface and interactions in practice.

  • 2. Build

We build the custom theme, content structures, and agreed features in stages. At review points, you can see the work in progress and give feedback before we lock down the solutions.

  • 3. Testing and launch

Before launch, we test the agreed features and key views on common devices and browsers. We also check performance, basic accessibility, and technical SEO. We train your team to use WordPress and monitor the site during launch.

  • 4. Maintenance and further development

After launch, we can handle updates, monitoring, and new features. A maintenance agreement keeps the site up to date and gives you direct access to the team that develops it.

WordPress maintenance

WordPress, its plugins, and the server environment need regular monitoring and controlled updates. Without maintenance, security risks and compatibility problems build up over time.

Our maintenance agreements can cover:

  • regular WordPress, plugin, and theme updates
  • security monitoring and preventive fixes
  • small content and feature updates
  • direct access to our team when a problem occurs

Maintenance is especially important for business-critical sites, where downtime or a security problem directly affects service or sales.

Why Smartbutlers?

We are a small team, and you work directly with the designers and developers responsible for your site. WordPress is an open platform: you own the site, its content, and the implementation, with no lock-in to our services.

We can maintain and develop the site after launch. Our aim is to build a site that serves you for years and adapts to new needs.
